Ormiston State School
has a Science program taught by a Specialist Science Teacher. Years 1 – 6 students engage with the Science
Program for 1 hour per week, while our Prep students learn Science through
their classroom teacher.
Our Science
program is based on the Australian Curriculum Standards where students explore
all four strands of Science: Biology,
Physics, Chemistry and Earth and Beyond.
Students
engage in a range of investigative and hands on experiments and learning
activities to deepen their understanding of the material. Students are assessed on their knowledge and
understanding, scientific skills and ability to apply their knowledge to
different situations.
