What we teach (Curriculum), and how we teach (Pedagogy) are essential elements in determining success for students. At Ormiston State School the expectations regarding Curriculum and Pedagogy are carefully and deliberately structured to align with our approach to developing the whole student outlined in our vision statement on the homepage. Every term the expectations of the curriculum and the needs of the students, collectively and individually, are clearly and carefully determined prior to developing the curriculum plans for the term. These then inform the day to day teaching needs across year levels. The underlying methodology to this is based on two key, research-based approaches. These are New Pedagogies for Deep Learning and Age Appropriate Pedagogies.
