We aim to achieve the best educational outcomes for every student so that the students can achieve their full potential as independent, knowledgeable and skilled people who are socially responsible and positively motivated. At Ormiston State School our core priorities are teaching literacy, numeracy and science.
Ormiston State School will plan, teach, assess and report on the Australian Curriculum for English, mathematics, science and history and geography.
Teachers will continue to use the Queensland Essential Learnings and Standards to plan, teach, assess and report on learning areas where the Australian Curriculum is not yet available for implementation. These learning areas include: The arts, health and physical education, technology and languages.
Our core priorities not only focus on academic achievement but also strive to provide a “balanced” curriculum that gives opportunities in multiple spheres – academic, arts/cultural, sports, personal development. The School curriculum framework (PDF, 1.1MB) will provide greater detail into the curriculum that is offered to students.
