At Ormiston State School, we believe every student can learn, grow and achieve. Our commitment is to provide high-quality teaching and learning that enables every child to experience success and reach their potential.

Our curriculum is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and provides students with strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, rich knowledge across the learning areas, and opportunities to think critically, solve problems, communicate, collaborate and apply their learning in meaningful ways.

Students engage in learning across the eight Australian Curriculum learning areas:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • The Arts
  • Health and Physical Education
  • Languages – French
  • Technologies

We recognise that students bring different strengths, experiences and learning needs to the classroom. Through high expectations, evidence-informed teaching and responsive support, we work to ensure every student is appropriately challenged and supported in their learning.

We also believe that an excellent education extends beyond academic achievement. Students at Ormiston have opportunities to develop their talents and interests through the arts, music, sport, leadership, cultural experiences and a wide range of co-curricular opportunities.

Our aim is to develop knowledgeable, capable and confident young people who are curious about their world, connected to others and equipped with the skills and dispositions to continue learning throughout their lives.
