The school has a proud tradition of choral singing and this program now caters to students of all levels of ability in Year 3 and above.
All groups perform a broad range of repertoire styles and have fun doing it! All three choirs perform in numerous school and community events throughout the school year as well as performing in local competitions. The choirs have also had the opportunity to workshop with world-renowned choral conductors along with workshops with other primary aged choirs in the region. The program runs in conjunction with the classroom music program, which is taught primarily through singing.
There are no fees associated with being a member of choir, however, Senior Choir students are required to purchase a performance music shirt. As of 2020, Ormiston State School boasts three wonderful choirs. These groups are open to all, no auditions necessary.
